State of Texarkana Minority Business

Based on US Census information released for 2012 population data and 2012 business data, the following observations are made. Non-Black minorities reportedly comprise < 5% of the population for 2012. Therefore, since aforementioned Census Business Data lumps all minorities together, this article focuses on and applies minority business data to Black Minorities.

Texarkana, Arkansas – Year 2012

Whites and Blacks comprised 64% and 33% of population, respectively.

Whites and Blacks owned 75% and 18% of registered businesses, respectively.

Texarkana, Texas – Year 2012

Whites and Blacks comprised 54% and 38% of population, respectively.

Whites and Blacks owned 67% and 23% of registered businesses, respectively.

Texarkana, Arkansas and Texarkana, Texas Businesses Data For 2012. Relevant data is located at bottom of report. Note this report was released for Year 2018 with Business Data for 2012 which is the latest business data seemingly available to the Census officials. It contains population data for 2018 so I used population data from the above references instead of from this report. Thus, only the business data from this report is relevant for this analysis.
