Proposed Committee Name: TACLC Committee for Excellence in Education (TACLC-CFEIE)
Issue: Texarkana Arkansas School District (TASD) like all school districts in the state and nation faces the question of proper celebration and teaching of history that adequately recognizes the contributions of and challenges faced concerning representatives of all racial and ethnicity groups.
The same issue applies to other schools within the Texarkana area.
Getting it right with our children should be a priority given the impact a proper education or lack thereof has on future quality of life and contribution to society.
Opportunity sometimes comes in the presence of crisis. With the national attention and probable influx of money into communities, is it not wise for community leaders to ensure we rise to greater balance in all areas of life especially regarding our children?
